I use a Res-Med bi-pap machine and put vegetable wash in the water tub by a huge mistake a... year ago...mix-up...and I asked suppliers locally to see if it was ok after telling them what I had done and all said it was ok..checked out..however, I would be very out of breath (extremely) when using and not when I did not use it and it seemed to be causing palpitations for me more so after using and so I had to quit using it for almost a year. I would try off and on with bad results. Finally I found a repair service (one of 3 in the USA I was told) so chose to send to ASP Altra and they confirmed that it had been affected and fixed the problem. I can happily say that I can now use it again and it seems so much better, no huge event changes like before even before I used the wrong water... and I can happily breathe during the day again without getting so out of breath and at night breathe so good again when using! Actually better and it is consistent! My palpitations are gone now except when I forget a pill...They also found the pressure setting too low, as well. They did all of this quickly and very professionally and helpfully. I think probably it was off since I received it and my supply place in MI gave me one that had belonged to someone else I know for a fact because the person at my supply place said there was a mix-up and serial number said my machine belonged to someone else... I will be having them check up on my machine(s) in the future just to make sure they are doing what they are supposed to be doing. Thank you very much ASP Altra!!read more

I was a bit skeptical about shipping my CPAP across the country for repairs, but I had reached... my wits end trying to fix the loud noise coming from my machine that rendered it unusable, and was getting no help from my medical provider or the manufacturer. Quick service and fast turn-around all done through their website & email exchanges, no need... to call and speak to anybody. Within two days of the receipt of my machine they provided a full diagnostic report, estimate for repairs, and upon my written approval an invoice for payment. Two Days later the machine was fixed and being shipped back to me (4 days total).The repaired machine is 7-8 years old so I purchased a brand new machine in the interim not knowing if it could be repaired and now I have a spare AirCurve 10 that I can use for travel while keeping the new machine at home. They replaced the blower motor in my ResMed Aircurve 10 VAUTO at a reasonable price and very... quickly. (I suspect that ResMed designs a limited life into these units.)Upon receipt of the repaired unit, I took it to the local outlet of Apria and asked them to check whether the pressures were correctly set according to the sleep test I provided to Altra. But I have to say after scheduling to have my machine repaired it didn’t take long to realize these people are on the level. I found Altra CPAP Repair through extensive web search. I had them replace the motor/blower in... my ResMed S9 that had 22,842 hours on it. That motor/blower was nearing it's life's end and was getting louder, a sure sign of the bearings about to go out. For a flat rate, Altra replaced the motor/blower and then a full diagnostic on the ResMed S9 machine and it passed all tests. Much better and more cost effective than trying to replace it! Now I can get another 6 years out of this excellent machine! Thanks Altra!!read more

My wife's CPAP needed repair and was out of warranty and not yet eligible for a new CPAP... through Medicare. Our local CPAP Store suggested Altra. I contacted them. They sent me a mailing label. I boxed the machine and took it to the UPS Store. They handled the packaging. Altra paid for the mailing. When Altra got the package they advised me an estimate would be coming. A few days later I got an estimate to fix it. I told them to go ahead and charged teh estimate to my credit card. About a week later, I got an E-mail that the repair was complete and would be sent to me by UPS shortly. A few days later I got it and it is back working fine. All in all a very pleasant experience dealing with Altra.read more

Need to update website - CPAP repair process from the time it left my house to the time it was... returned was almost a month and that was with my requesting updates and approving and paying for the repairs within minutes. I needed to contact to receive update on my repair after sending it. They also stated that I... would receive an invoice to pay before work was to be done. I didn't get one but while I was in my Paypal account, I saw the charge to be paid there...??? So I paid right then. After that, I received my machine promptly. I'm so impressed with Altra I hardly know where to begin. I first brought my faulty machine to... Lincare where I originally obtained it. They sent it to ResMed. Now this is a medical device but neither Lincare nor ResMed anything like a loaner or demo or any kind of substitute for my machine while it was being repaired. Lincare never contacted me to let me know the status of the machine. Did ResMed get the machine? Could they repair it? When would I get it back? Crickets. After I called them several times they told me that the repair at ResMed would take 8-10 weeks! I had them send the unrepaired machine back to me.I then discovered Altra and called them. They told me it would take about 1-1/2 weeks and they even published the estimated repair costs on their website. As soon as I got the machine back from ResMed I sent it to Altra. Their process is simple and straightforward. The most complicated part is dropping it off at a UPS store which is - ummm, not complicated.I got an acknowledgment of receipt and a repair estimate within a couple days. I had a question about the estimate and emailed them. Surprise! An actual human responded to my question in a couple hours. I approved the repair and had the machine back in 8 days.These folks have their act completely together. I heartily recommend them for CPAP repair. Very, very impressive performance.read more

I ordered a refurbished AirSep NewLife Intensity 10L Oxygen Concentrator from Altra Service... Professionals. When I recieved it the unit was in good working condition. I ordered it be used while I use my Mild Hyperbaric Chamber (MHBOT). When I ran the tubing into the MHBOT the concentrator would not run as needed. I contacted Altra and sent it to them. They were so amazing and persistant at trying to find the solution. Bob, the best service professional I have ever met, spent many hours trying to figure out the issue. He was so kind, patient and helpful. Although, the machine tested out as working, they sent me another refurbished one that works with my MHBOT. I highly recommend this company!! My first experience with Altra was not positive and would have earned a two-star review. Parts... were delayed and I was unable to get any information from the front desk. Later in the process I contacted one of the officers and received an immediate and helpful response. Since receiving my oxygenator back, I contacted him again (from a campground) about a problem and, again, received an immediate response that was right on point.
